Morgan to reinvent itself with high-performance sports car

Morgan is working on an all-new high-performance sports car flagship that will both reinforce its reputation for classic design and move it on a couple of decades, notionally into the Jaguar E-Type era.
The new car, which will be made in both coupé and roadster forms, follows several years of research into what a traditionally minded 109-year-old car company should do next, without threatening its successful classic model range. It is being created in-house by design and engineering teams that now total around 30 people as a result of recent, well-targeted investment.
The new hand-made flagship’s first iteration is understood to be a two-door, two-seat coupé that should appear in the mid-2020s, estimated to be priced near the level of an Aston Martin V8 Vantage. Many automakers can make claims about their heritage and old-world craftsmanship, but few can back up those claims quite like the Morgan Motor Company. Not only does Morgan still produce a range of ash wood-framed sports cars by hand alongside three-wheelers that are remarkably similar to Morgan’s Runabouts of the 1930s, but it does so in a factory built by Morgan in 1914. Though the Morgan Motor Company celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2012, this year marks yet another milestone: the 100th anniversary of the Pickersleigh Road works.

May 25th 2012: Hero clothing brand Superdry and heritage car manufacturer Morgan Motor Company team up again to showcase their Morgan 3 Wheeler- Superdry Edition; these two iconic British brands join forces to compete in the Gumball 3000 with Charles Morgan behind the wheel.
On the 1st of May Charles took an absolutely standard Superdry 3 Wheeler from the end of the line of production and completed 500 miles of running in. The car was then shipped to Manhatten Motorsports (the Morgan dealer in New York) so Charles and Kira Morgan could begin the legendary race.

The Morgan Motor Company and MorganWest were proud to unveil the Morgan EvaGT at the 2010 Pebble Beach Concours. Morgan president Charles Morgan and EvaGt designer Matthew Humphries did the honors before a large crowd of onlookers.
Earlier Charles hosted a exclusive breakfast gathering at the historic Carmel Mission for Morgan aficionados and their favorite Morgans. Charles and Matthew personally looked over the group of cars and presented awards to three of their owners.
