“Perhaps the ultimate “Escape Machine”, this hand-built British vehicle is actually a modern cyclecar, with a handsome retro look and origins dating back to 1909. My portrait is a salute to this rebellious little roadster and the need we all felt to get out and escape the stress of the COVID-19 pandemic, during which this time-consuming painting was completed.” – Mike Mayone

Striking realism and delicate detail are hallmarks of fine artist Mike Mayone’s handiwork. On location and from his studio in the foothills of the Green Mountains in East Middlebury, Vermont, Mike captures in paint his beautiful images of the Northeast, although most of his inspiration comes from the natural charm of Vermont itself. This particular painting is Mike’s debut in the subject of automotive portraiture on a scale much larger, and far more detailed, than he has ever created in the past.
